Training for Experienced Organizers - Creating organizing excellence and success through the integration of essential knowledge and skills

Denslow was one of the first members of the professional organizing field, starting her business 35 years ago.

Ten years ago, Denslow committed to several years of study in coaching skills (see trainer bio for more info).  She knows that adding coaching to her organizing work dramatically shifts the work in a very positive way.

She has been teaching coaching skills to organizers for several years (through NAPO, NSGCD and this website) and improved dramatically the way organizers work with clients.  The testimonials about the training and the transformations are glowing.

This comprehensive program provides coaching skills training for use in organizing situations.  It is unique in that approach and leads to certification as an Organizer Coach.

The Coach Approach for Organizers™

This Organizer Coach training is designed expressly for experienced organizers. It will teach you to deepen the communication and understanding you have with clients.   Clients will be more engaged and committed to the organizing sessions, the structure you provide, and the systems you create together.

The quality and results of your work will noticeably improve, thereby increasing client satisfaction and your success.  You will be able to expand the services you provide.

The training is designed specifically to enhance the work professional organizers do.  It is for experienced and active organizers only. An experienced organizer has both knowledge and competency in organizing techniques and principles.  Active organizers are currently working with clients and can use the training they receive with clients between classes.

Each training class will be recorded and available for a week in case an emergency or other unavoidable obligation prevents your attendance.

The courses may be taken individually and all are relevant for CPO® recertification continuing education hours. The courses are offered in a particular order and are pre-requisites for those that follow.  Five of the six classes offered lead to an Organizer Coach Certification

The second and third courses (Brain-based Client Challenges and Coaching Skills for Organizers II) directly address brain-based challenges to an organized life, particularly the challenge of ADD.   Because there is extensive undiagnosed adult ADD in our culture, and because people with ADD usually have organizing challenges, both organizers and their clients are unknowingly and frequently dealing with it.

Learning how to effectively and tactfully explore with a client the possibility that “more might be going on” with their organizing challenges and to support clients in managing health conditions are critical skills for every organizer.

With enough stress most people exhibit ADD-like symptoms some of the time.  Acute stress from disorganization is often what propels people to reach out to organizers.  Organizers can use ADD coaching skills with any stressed client.

The Core Courses require concurrent attendance in small groups of three students.  These small groups meet for the duration of each course to practice the skills being taught in each class.  This is a valued component of any coach training program and is critical for each student.

The courses offered through Coach Approach for Organizers™ are described below.  Course size is limited to 15. If registration numbers are high, a second "section" of each course will be scheduled for a different time.

Classes for the four Core Courses will be held on Wednesday afternoons 3:00 - 4:30 pm Eastern. This course schedule is subject to change.

Completion certificates will be sent (as each course is completed) with the information needed to report training hours for CPO CUEs or coaching certification.
